Chance of snow for the area on Wednesday; Sunny, warmer weather resumed Thursday over the weekend
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Nebraska) -SCOTTSBLUFF,Neb. (KNEP)- The snow chance will be headlines Wednesday, with conditions improving Thursday into the weekend.
With a low pressure area to the south of us and a high pressure area to the north and west, this will favor uplift and moisture in the area, thus giving us a chance to see some snowfall throughout the area. From the Imperial to Lexington Corridor, a winter weather advisory is in effect through Thursday morning where they can see 3 to 5 inches upwards with locally higher amounts. 1 to 4 inches of snow is possible along the interstate corridor. Further north, less than an inch of snow is expected. Daytime highs will only be in the 20s, with winds of 15 to 25 mph. Once we enter the nighttime hours, conditions will improve with winds dropping to between 5 and 15 mph and clouds clearing. With this compensation, this will drop the lows between 0 and 10.

During the day of Thursday until the weekend, the conditions will improve. That means sunny skies and warmer temperatures. Thursday daytime highs will be in the 30s, 40s and 50s on Friday into the weekend as high pressure will be the major weather feature across the state. Early next week a new system will go live and this has the potential to bring more snow. We will keep you updated on the progress of this system.
