Car crashes into Lincoln eyewear store, causing $75,000 in damage, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – A driver was cited Monday night after crashing into a Lincoln eyewear store, police say.
At approximately 10:30 pm, officers were dispatched to the intersection of 56th and O Streets to report a three-vehicle crash.
Police say a Nissan Maxima on O Street ran a red light and struck a southbound GMC Acadia at the intersection.
The Nissan then drove through the intersection, hit a third vehicle and went off the road into Eyeglass World.
Police estimate that the incident caused about $75,000 in damage to the store.
The driver of the Nissan was cited on suspicion of violating traffic lights, according to police.
Two drivers were taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
