Aurora couple’s funeral scheduled for Friday

AURORA, Nebraska. (Nebraska) — The family of an Aurora couple whose bodies were found in rural Buffalo County said a funeral is scheduled for Friday.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) said Saturday that the bodies of Bob and Loveda Proctor were found near the intersection of 100th Street and Keystone Road, about five miles northeast of Kearney. Their car was found stranded on the road with minimal repairs. The couple’s bodies were found nearby. The sheriff’s office did not release a cause of death, but there was no suspicion of foul play.

The Buffalo County Attorney ordered an autopsy, and family members said it would be done on Monday or Tuesday. The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office did not provide further information on Monday. The sheriff’s office said Saturday that the Aurora and Kearney Police Departments and the BCSO are conducting a joint investigation.

A spokesperson for the funeral home said the proctor’s funeral is scheduled for Friday. March 17 at 10:30 am at the Church of St. Mary in Aurora. A visit to both the rose garden and visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 16 at 5:00 pm at the church. Family spokesperson Lacey Fleming expressed her gratitude to everyone who sought out proctors and supported the family.

The couple went missing for two months. The Aurora Police Department and other law enforcement agencies received several tips regarding their whereabouts.

Bob Proctor was 89 and Loveda Proctor was 92.
