Thursday afternoon in Chicago, a construction worker was shot during an attempted robbery, according to investigators.
The 42-year-old victim was working on a construction site in the 5700 block of South Paulina, near the West Englewood neighborhood, just before 12:30 p.m. when, according to authorities, someone approached him, flashed a weapon, and demanded his stuff. When the man refused, the gunman reportedly opened fire, wounding the employee in the right thigh and grazing his left arm.
The victim was sent to a hospital in the region in stable condition.
According to police, the shooter ran in an unknown direction, and as of Thursday afternoon, no one was in jail.
An investigation is still active.
