An evening shot of snow leads to a cold and windy Thursday
HASTINGS, Neb. (Nebraska) — A fast-moving swath of snow will exit Colorado and race northeast through central Nebraska tonight. Conditions will change rapidly as the gang is expected to move through the Tri-Cities area in the mid to late evening, limiting visibility and producing some small accumulations that could make the roads slippery.

Winter weather warnings remain active through Thursday with the addition of an expanded wind chill warning for western and northern areas. In addition to the snow, it will be bitterly cold and windy from tonight to Thursday, with wind chill values throughout the region ranging from 15 to 40 below zero.

Thursday morning actual temperatures will drop below freezing in northern areas into the low single digits. Thursday’s highs will range from near zero in the north, to teens in the south. A light disturbance Thursday night could produce a handful of light snow showers late Thursday night through early Friday, although no significant accumulations are expected.

They will still show cold temperatures on Friday, but hints of warming will take shape as the winds turn southerly on Friday evening. Weekend temperatures respond well, climbing into the 40s and 50s with Sunday being the warmest. An area of higher level low pressure to the south could produce some rain showers along with thunderstorms Sunday night.
