An asteroid will pass by Earth on April 1
The asteroid will pass by Earth on April 1 at a speed of about 46,300 kilometers per hour. It was discovered in 2007. The asteroid is 259 meters in diameter and is called 2007 FF1. It orbits the Sun.
The asteroid will be at the shortest distance from Earth on April 1, when it will pass by us at a distance of 7.4 million kilometers. Due to its size and distance, it is considered a potentially dangerous asteroid.
In the future, it will pass by the Earth again, but at a greater distance – about 29 million kilometers.
These distances seem large, but they are relatively small from an astronomical perspective, and any miscalculation or collision with another body can throw these space bodies out of their orbits.
