Agenda for the next planning commission meeting

The public is invited and encouraged to attend an upcoming meeting of a Madison County-based regional government agency where tax dollars may be spent.

WHAT: Norfolk Planning Commission

WHEN: Wednesday 22 February, 7:30

WHERE: Norfolk City Council Chambers, 309 N. Fifth St.

— Commissioners will consider recommending a zoning change from C-3 (utility business district) and RM (mobile home district) to I-1 (light industrial district) on property located at 915 Bonita Drive. This point was presented at the meeting on 7 February.

– Commissioners will consider recommending final course addition to La Bonita RV park, also presented at February 7 meeting.

— The Commissioners will consider having city personnel prepare a conditional use permit and action at the next regularly scheduled planning commission meeting for a recreational vehicle campground on the property at 915 Bonita Drive. This point was also presented at the February 7 meeting.

— Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to consider amending section 4-4 of the official city code to include an exception for raising chickens, kittens or ducks with a valid permit and to define more clearly cattle in relation to cattle ranching within the city; amend section 4-6 of the code to treat free-range chickens or ducks; enact city code section 27-295 to permit the raising of chickens, kittens or ducks in residential neighborhoods with a valid permit. The Commissioners will then consider the recommendation on the matter.

— The Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on the Women’s Empowering Life Line’s request for a conditional use permit for a day care center on property located at 600 N. 12th St. and properties located north and west. The commissioners will then consider having city staff prepare the permit on the issue for discussion and action at the next regularly scheduled planning commission meeting.

— Commissioners will conduct a public hearing at the request of Flatrock Group LLC to consider a zoning change from A (agricultural district) to I-1 (light industrial district) on properties generally located west of North 40th Avenue and south of West Norfolk Ave. The Commissioners will then consider recommending the matter.

— Commissioners to conduct a public hearing at the request of Flatrock Group LLC to consider a zoning change from A (agricultural district) to C-3 (service commercial district) on properties generally located west of North 40th Avenue and south of West Norfolk Ave. The Commissioners will then consider recommending the matter.

The commissioners will consider the Norfolk 140 subdivision’s final pot recommendation.

The commissioners will hear a report on the January 2023 building permits.
