Nebraska

A spectacular and hot weekend is expected for the region

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (Nebraska) -SCOTTSBLUFF,Neb. (KNEP)- After 48 hours of bitter cold, conditions will finally become manageable and even pleasant as we head into Friday, the weekend and Monday.

With the high pressure under control, the Gulf of Mexico will open Friday through Monday, bringing calm conditions and warmer temperatures. Starting Friday, the highs will climb into the 20s and 30s with overnight lows in the 0s and 10s. As we head into Saturday, dry conditions continue and the highs will ramp rapidly into the 40s and 50s. Widespread 50s will be the theme on Sunday with a little extra cloud cover. During Sunday night, an area of low pressure will develop to our south and this will favor moisture in the form of clouds and a chance of light rain Sunday night as the low pressure rises towards the northeast. On Monday, due to the flow from the northwest with the low pressure system, this will lower our temperatures a bit, but still warm, with values between 40 and 50 degrees.

Much better conditions as we head into the weekend and Monday (Andre Brooks)
