A man killed when a car crashes into a tree in West Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska) – Police are investigating after a driver was killed when his car hit a tree Sunday night.

The Omaha Police Department says officers were called to Pacific and 150th Streets just after 10:15 p.m. to report an incident.

Officers discovered a 2007 Toyota Corolla had crashed into a tree. The driver, 38-year-old Andrew Heathershaw, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators think the car was traveling west on Pacific when Heathershaw lost control, crossed the median and went off the road into a tree.

Police say lack of a seat belt and alcohol are being investigated as factors in the crash.
