A horse galloped into a swampy area and got stuck, Omaha authorities got the horse rescued

OMAHA, Nebraska – Sunday afternoon in northwest Omaha, a horse experienced a crazy ride.

The owner had saddled Dakota near Cunningham Lake, but Dakota managed to escape.

The horse galloped into a bog and became mired.

Four cops from the Nebraska Humane Society came to the rescue, but they must call in the cavalry.

The Omaha Fire Department utilized an airborne platform to reach into the swamp and attach a safety harness and rope. In the meantime, thirteen Omaha firefighters, four animal control officials, and three Omaha police officers tried to extricate Dakota from the dirt while maintaining his composure.

It took the rescuers more than two hours to get Dakota from the marsh. Eventually, the horse was returned to its delighted owners.
