A fire in an apartment building in Omaha led to the displacement of residents
OMAHA, Nebraska (Nebraska) — Omaha fire brigades responded to a fire with two alarms at an apartment complex Monday afternoon.
It happened at 163rd and Bedford Plaza around 3:13 pm on Monday.
In a video provided to 6 News by an eyewitness, a huge flame is seen erupting from two entrances of the building.
Arriving fire brigades quickly considered the fire “under control”. After that, the second alarm was cancelled.
The Omaha Fire Department reports damage to all three floors of the building. Damage was estimated at $37,500 to the structure and another $22,500 to its contents.
The fire department has not reported any casualties.
An eyewitness at the scene told 6 News that 12 people were injured in the fire.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
