A 14-year-old boy in Michigan has been charged with brutally murdering his 10-year-old stepsister late last month.

Late last month, a child who is now 14 years old and lives in Michigan was charged with the gruesome slaying of his stepsister, who was 10 years old.

Jameion Peterson, age 14, is suspected of being responsible for the death of Na’Mylah J. Turner-Moore, age 10. On Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at approximately 6:15 a.m., it was initially reported that the girl had gone missing. Later on that day, she was found to have died in a field next to the house that she shared with her stepfather by the Michigan State Police.

On September 18th, she would have turned 11 years old had she lived.

Melonzine Turner, the mother of the murdered girl, revealed this information to the media consortium MLive.com, saying, “As soon as I made it to the site, is when they found her.”

Despite the defendant’s extremely young age, he is being prosecuted as an adult with open murder, as reported by a station that is affiliated with ABC and located in Flint. However, at this time, there are very few specifics available concerning the murder.

MLive.com quoted statements made by local prosecutors who stated that it did not appear that any type of weapon was used in the killing of the young girl.

Turner, who recently gave birth to twins in April of this year, is adamant about remembering her daughter as a beacon of hope in her life.

The bereaved mother expressed her thoughts to MLive.com, saying, “My baby was everything.” “She had a cheery demeanor and a smile on her face. She had a distinct character. She had a large circle of pals. Everyone desired to be in her company. Simply put, she was quite endearing.

Turner shared her observations regarding her daughters’ perspectives on their relationships with their younger brothers by stating, “She simply wanted them in her face all the time.” “All she wanted to do was shower her younger siblings with affection because she was aware that she was the eldest.”

A memorial was erected by family and friends in honor of Na’Mylah Turner-Moore, who was 10 years old.

Her body was discovered earlier this week, and her stepbrother, who is only 14 years old, has been charged in connection with her death.

Turner-Moore received her elementary education at the Stone School in Saginaw. The local authorities paid their respects to her as well.

According to comments made by the Superintendent of Saginaw Public Schools, Ramont M. Roberts, “Na’Mylah Turner-Moore was a fourth-grade student that was well liked by her peers and was a leader at Stone School, known for organizing recess activities during lunch and recess,” MLive.com reported that Roberts said. “Na’Mylah Turner-Moore was known for organizing recess activities during lunch and recess.” “Spending time with her friends and going to art class were two of her favorite activities,” you say. We are keeping her family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We are going to miss Na’Mylah a great deal.

The circumstances surrounding the girl’s passing have not been disclosed by the investigators.

The results of an autopsy are reportedly being awaited by prosecutors, as reported by a station that is an affiliate of CBS in Bay City, WNEM.

The deceased girl’s uncle, Walter Curley, has created a GoFundMe to assist the family in covering the costs associated with the funeral.

Turner stated in an interview with MLive that the suspected suspect made the situation very difficult to bear and cope with.

According to what she said on the website, “I treated the boy as if he was my own.” I dressed him by putting clothes on his back. He reminded me of one of my other children. It never occurred to me that he would do anything to the extent that this describes. But on the other hand, you shouldn’t put anything or anyone out of your mind, and you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.

Following Turner-passing, Moore’s the neighborhood has come together in support of her surviving loved ones.

Reporter Justin Engel provided an emotional recital of the memorial that was set up close to the location where the body of the girl was found:

More than a dozen balloons were tied around the street sign at the crossroads. As they moved in the breeze, they caught the attention of drivers who were traveling several blocks away.

There was a single photograph of Na’Mylah that was lain out on the grass about ten feet distant from the signage. The image was encircled with flowers, two homemade Catholic crosses, still-burning candles wrapped in glass featuring messages of prayer, pinwheels that spun in the breeze, and an assortment of perhaps two dozen children’s toys and games. Toy dogs and elephants joined Disney icons like Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in the cast of this production. One white plush bear with a red heart that read “Happy Birthday” carried around another white plush bear.

On August 31, 2022, Peterson was arraigned in court. He is being held in custody at this time without bond being set. The preliminary examination of the defendant is now scheduled to take place on September 21, 2022, at 3:45 p.m.
