94th homicide in Columbus this year: Father fatally shot his young son

COLUMBUS, Ohio — According to reports from the Columbus Police Department, two separate shooting incidents that took place throughout the course of the night on Saturday in the city of Columbus resulted in the deaths of one person and left another in serious condition.

Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Wildwood Avenue east of South Linden after receiving reports of a shooting in that area, as stated by the police.

Kenneth Robinson Jr., 22, was discovered lying in a backyard with several gunshot wounds by the responding officers. At 5:37 in the morning, he was pronounced dead at the OSU East Hospital after being transported there.

This incident occurred in a domestic setting, and the father of the victim has been identified as the person of interest, according to a dispatcher with the Columbus Police Department.

In the year 2022, this is the 94th person to be murdered in Columbus.

At 5:17 in the morning, there was a shooting in the North Hilltop area.

The Columbus Police Department (CPD) reports that nine minutes later, officers rushed to the 160 block of North Harris Avenue in the North Hilltop neighborhood in west Columbus, where they discovered someone who had been shot.

According to the authorities, that individual was transported to Grant Medical Center while in severe condition.

At this time, police has yet to report any people in custody after either shooting.
