47-year-old Topeka man, involved in missing woman case, arrested in Belize

OMAHA, Nebraska — Aldrick Scott, who is 47 years old and from Topeka, was identified as the suspect by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. He was wanted on the suspicion that he kidnapped Cari Allen, a woman from Omaha who is now 43 years old and has not been located.

On November 28th, former discussed this topic with 3 News Now. They said that he was “modest” and “respectful,” yet two of his former pals paint a different picture of him than what was presented.

Tonya, who was formerly married to Aldrick Scott, counts Amber McKinney as her closest friend. Jeffery, her spouse, was a member of the military, and Scott served in the same unit. The couples knew one other because they served in the same platoon together in the army.

“They were very professional, quite kind, they joked around, and did everything else that you would expect normal people to do. The other side of the coin is that when he was with his wife, he acted in a very dishonest manner “Jeffery McKinney claimed.

“He was not an upstanding citizen. He was not kind to her in any way “According to Amber McKinney.

We had a conversation with Tonya Shumate, who is Scott’s ex-wife. However, she did characterize him to us as “extremely controlling, emotionally abusive, and occasionally physically abusive.” She did not speak to us on video.

She informed us that she had attempted to get a protection order in 2016, but it was unsuccessful. 3 News Now called the Shawnee County District Court in Kansas and spoke with the court administrator, who confirmed that Aldrick was charged with misdemeanor violence in 2016. Following his successful completion of a pretrial intervention program in 2019, the case against him was dropped.

According to Jeffery, “When he didn’t get his way, he had explosive anger, which could turn physically violent at the drop of a hat.” “When he didn’t get his way, he had explosive fury,”

When the McKinneys learned that Scott and Cari Allen were connected in some way, the only emotion they could muster was profound regret.

According to Jeffery, “I pray to God every night that they locate her because it appears like she is a very, very honest and caring person, and she seems like a loving mother.”

Amber expressed her sorrow by saying, “My heart hurts for her family.”

Later on this week, Scott will have a hearing regarding his extradition. The Sheriff’s Office is continuing their search for Allen at this time.
