16th Annual Shine a Light on Hunger Campaign Raises Enough for 12.4 Million Meals
OMAHA, Neb. (Nebraska) — Conagra Brands has launched its 16th annual Shine a Light on Hunger campaign, and with the help of the community, it has surpassed its goal.
The goal of the six-week Food Bank for the Heartland campaign was to raise enough for three million meals.
On Thursday, he announced that he had collected enough for 12.4 million meals. This is more than four times the target.
“We are facing an unprecedented need for food aid and this is a huge community response to our call for help,” said Brian Barks, President and CEO of Food Bank for the Heartland.
Organizations in the metro area have contributed by placing donation blue barrels to collect non-perishable food during the holidays.
Omaha Park has also chipped in on candy-striped parking meters to accept donations.
Conagra donated all funds for the campaign up to $100,000. Several other organizations have also contributed.
