15 and 16-year-olds arrested in Lincoln regarding a stabbing incident, police

LINCOLN, Nebraska – A 15-year-old girl and her 16-year-old boyfriend have been detained on suspicion of murdering the girl’s father.

Monday around 4 p.m., Lincoln Police rushed to The Lodge Apartments, located southeast of 40th and Highway 2, when 15-year-old Sallie Gilmer contacted 911 to report that she had returned home from school to find her father stabbed.

Officers located Jesse Gilmer, 70 years old, was stabbed to death.

Sallie Gilmer was arrested for first-degree murder and the use of a lethal weapon in the commission of a felony after police conducted interviews and gathered evidence. Isaac Honigschmidt, her boyfriend, was arrested for aiding and abetting a first-degree murder. They were provided shelter at the Lancaster County Youth Services Center.

Due to the severity of the offense, they will be tried as adults, according to Lincoln Police Chief Teresa Ewins.

In Nebraska, a 15-year-old girl is suspected of murdering her father with the assistance of her boyfriend.
